We send nurse immunisers to offices throughout Sydney’s central business district, covering Barangaroo, Circular Quay, Martin Place, Town Hall, Wynyard and The Rocks. This service is part of our wider Sydney flu vaccination program.
With so many large employers concentrated in a small area, the CBD is one of the busiest parts of our schedule each flu season. If you are planning a program for April to October, it is worth getting your quote in early so we can lock in your preferred dates.
What a session looks like
You provide a room with a table and chairs. Our nurse arrives 10 to 15 minutes before the first appointment to set up. Each vaccination takes roughly two minutes, which means about 30 to 32 staff per hour. For a team of 60, you are looking at around two hours.
Staff who book online receive SMS reminders before the day. We supply promotional material if you want to encourage participation. Where there is no previous data to go on, uptake tends to sit around 35%.
Record-keeping and certificates
Every dose administered is recorded with the Australian Immunisation Register. Staff who book through the online system receive a PDF vaccination certificate. You also get a participation report after the session, with breakdowns by department, location or cost centre.
Pharmacy vouchers for absent staff
Not everyone can make the on-site day. Employees who are travelling, on leave or working remotely can use a pharmacy voucher at any of 2,000+ partner pharmacies across Australia. The cost is covered by the employer.
Flu season timing
In Australia, flu season runs April to October with the peak between June and September. Recovery from influenza can take two weeks or more. For CBD employers with large teams, even a handful of cases moving through the office can affect productivity over several weeks.
