Corporate Care updates all flu shot encounters to AIR
It is mandatory to report flu vaccinations to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR)
Complying with AIR legislation
As of the 1st of March 2021, all vaccine providers must report flu vaccinations to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).
Corporate is a flu vaccination provider registered with AIR. We have worked hard to ensure that all our vaccinations are recorded with the Australian Immunisation Register. This includes persons without a Medicare card number.
What is the Australian Immunisation Register?
The Australian Immunisation Register or AIR is a national register that records vaccinations given to people of all ages in Australia.
Immunisation is an essential part of our health care. It protects those who have been vaccinated and those who, for any reason, can't receive vaccines.
By recording all vaccination encounters (including influenza), we ensure that the AIR contains a complete and reliable vaccine dataset administered in Australia.
What information do we require to update AIR?
Corporate Care runs paperless workplace flu vaccination programs. When you or your employees book an appointment with us, we collect the following information.
- First name
- Last name
- DOB
- Gender
- Medicare card
- Reference number (This is the digit before the card holder's name)
In the absence of a Medicare card, we require the flu participant's home address.
It is important to highlight that as per the Health Insurance Act 1973, employer-initiated flu jab programs are not Medicare funded.

How to get your Medicare Immunisation history statement.
You can get your immunisation history statement online using your Medicare online account through myGov or Express Plus Medicare mobile app.
